American Indian Festivals

This occasion is filled with colorful regalia of the participating dancers from the different American Indian tribes. Each dancer performs to the Indian beat of the drums and the Indian chants by fellow tribal folks. Often times, dance competitions are being held.
As the dancers parade around the arena, different kinds and types of regalia can be seen. Almost every American Indian wears feathers and beads, not just on their headdresses but also on their body apparel. Some of them display different kinds of jewelry and even bells dangling on their attire.
The dances are participated by people of different ages - by children, young adults and the elderly; and it is also participated by both men and women. It is nice to note that people attending these festivities have the discipline of not allowing alcoholic beverages, nor can a drunken person be found. The celebration is filled with peace and respect.
Around the venue, one can learn of the many traditions of the different American Indian tribes. Booths are present where different specialty products are

displayed. These include fetishes, artifacts, jewelries, dream catchers, kachinas, native indian flutes, drums, pottery, native american music, herbal medicines, food, clothing, and a lot more displays.
Where ever there are American Indian reservations, these events may be held almost throughout the year in the different states of the US. It is also important to note that Native American tribes are not just present in the United States of America, but other Indian tribes are also present in Canada, and in South America.
If you are interested to witness one of these events, announcements may be advertised in the newspapers, or schedules may also be found through the internet. And in most cases, these gatherings are open to the public and admissions may be free.
