The ABC of Loans

Loans are the most convenient way of raising capital when you are in an urgent need for money. Everybody needs money for one thing or the other. You need money to buy a house. You need money to finance your children's education. You need money if you are going on a vacation. Check out: http://www.seek.uk.com for online loan info.

The problem is that it is very difficult to arrange for a large amount of money instantly. If your savings are not sufficient to fulfil your monetary requirements, then you will have to avail a loan. A number of lenders have taken advantage of this need to have access to instant money. Therefore, the business of lending has burgeoned all over the world, including the UK. Lenders charge a fee for providing their services, i.e. granting loans. This fee is called interest. So when you avail a loan, you will have to pay back the loan amount along with its interest.

The interest is charged annually and is usually a certain percentage of the unpaid loan balance. This percentage is known as the rate of interest. The rate of interest depends on several factors. The rate of interest on secured loans is higher than the interest rate on unsecured loans.

In case of secured loans, borrowers have to offer their property as collateral. This is the reason why lenders can afford to charge low rates of interest on secured loans. Another factor that influences the rate of interest is the

credit score of the borrower. If the borrower has a poor credit score, i.e. he has a past of arrears, defaults, county court judgements, or bankruptcy; he will have to pay a high rate of interest on a loan. This is because granting a loan to a borrower with a bad credit history increases the risk for lenders. Therefore, lenders charge high rates of interest on loans given to borrowers with a poor credit score.

There are several factors that you should consider before availing a loan. One of the factors is, of course, the rate of interest. You should go for a loan that carries a low rate of interest since a low rate of interest will reduce your debt burden. Another factor is loan period. If you wish to repay your loan by way of small monthly instalments, then you should go for a loan with an extended loan period. This will reduce the amount of your monthly payments. You must be very careful while availing a secured loan. Since your property is at risk, you must avail a secured loan only when you are confident that you will repay it as per the terms and conditions.
